Australia will play South Africa in Sydney in their 2014 FIFA World Cup™ farewell game before departing for Brazil, Football Federation Australia said on Monday.
The match will be staged in Sydney on 26 May before the team flies out to Brazil.
The South Africans, who face Brazil in a friendly in Johannesburg this week, failed to qualify for this year's World Cup after hosting the showpiece event in 2010.
FFA also confirmed that the Socceroos will play a warm-up match in Brazil against Croatia on 6 June before their opening World Cup match against Chile seven days later.
The match will be the 21st meeting between Australia and South Africa, with Bafana Bafana holding the advantage with 12 wins to the Socceroos six. The last meeting was in London in 2008 where they played out a 2-2 draw.
