Brazil is known all around the world as the country of football. As the host nation of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, the country has far more to offer than its passion for the game. As big as a continent, Brazil is a dazzling array of cultures and landscapes.

To do it justice, FIFA.com is launching a newly designed “Destination” section to showcase the World Cup host cities. The focus is on both tourist attractions and the cultural aspects (including football) of the Brazilian people.

We start this week by publishing photo galleries that serve as a guided tour of the main attractions in each host city. The idea is to take a 48-hour trip around town, stopping off at the most interesting culinary, historical, social and sporting offerings. But that is just the start.

Each of the state capitals that will be a match venue are surrounded with attractions that should not be missed. Browse around the wonderful excursions to be had within a reachable distance that will certainly live long in the memory. These include beaches, nature reserves, historical centres and a broad array of options in the midst of the exuberant and wide-ranging natural surroundings.

Take up our invitation! Go on a journey through the redesigned FIFA.com Brazil 2014 Destination section.
