While six stadiums are preparing for the start of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013, construction works continue at another six in readiness for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. In the latest issue of Stadiums update, we bring you exclusive images from those arenas, such as the Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre, and the three venues which are having finishing touches put to them ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup – such as the Maracana (above).

On 27 April, the stadium in Rio de Janeiro hosted a match for the first time since it was closed for renovation works back in September 2010. Bebeto and Ronaldo, both members of the of Local Organising Committee (LOC) Management Board and Brazil 2014 Ambassadors, led teams against each other in a highly entertaining friendly encounter. The Maracana is set to host the final of Brazil 2013 on 30 June this year, as well as the Final of the next FIFA World Cup on 13 July 2014.
