FIFA has concluded a number of licensee deals ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™. This represents a significant milestone in FIFA’s licensing programme following the strategic decision to take this element of the business in-house following the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

The finalised agreements span widely across the globe, with several deals in Asia, the Americas, Europe and Africa as well as a number of worldwide agreements. This complements the work being done by Globo Marcas, FIFA’s Master Licensee in the Host Country of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, who recently announced a number of sub-licensee deals in Brazil.

The licensing programme is a key element in engaging football fans all over the world and giving them the opportunity to get a piece of the action.

The deals have been negotiated directly with FIFA with three licensing representatives in Asia supporting the process with local market knowledge.

The deals cover a vast array of product categories including, but not restricted to, apparel, accessories, bags, balls, headwear, footwear, plushes, toys and games and souvenir items.
