The FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke returns to Brazil next week to visit two Host Cities in preparation for the FIFA World Cup. Valcke will arrive in Porto Alegre on Monday, 7 October 2013, in the morning. Alongside Ronaldo and Bebeto, members of the Local Organising Committee Board of Administration, and the Minister of Sport Aldo Rebelo, he will meet the deputy governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Beto Grill, and the deputy mayor Sebastião Melo. Around 9.00 (local time), the delegation will have the opportunity to check the work being done to widen the Beira-Rio Avenue before inspecting the stadium in Porto Alegre.
Later that day, the delegation will head to Cuiabá, where they will meet the governor of Mato Grosso, Silval Barbosa, and the mayor of the city, Mauro Mendes. A stadium visit is scheduled for the following morning, at 10.30 (local time) on Tuesday, 8 October 2013. The group will first stop to look at the viaduct Sefaz, which is part of the infrastructure for the VLT (light rail vehicle) in Cuiabá.
In each of the cities, Jérôme Valcke will do a symbolic ticket handover to representatives of the construction workers. Workers involved in building or renovating the 12 FIFA World Cup stadiums are to receive tickets to a FIFA World Cup match in their respective venue.
After the tour, the delegation will attend the LOC Board meeting on Thursday, 10 October 2013, in Rio de Janeiro, followed by a press conference.
