Alberto Moreno described himself as the "happiest kid in the world" after being named in the full Spain squad for the first time while penning a new contract with Sevilla on the same day.

The 21-year-old left-back was included in Vicente del Bosque's 23-man Spain squad for next week's FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers against Belarus and Georgia after making a solid start to the La Liga season.

And to add to an unforgettable day for the defender, he has also signed a contract extension with Sevilla which ties him to his home-town club until 30 June 2018, with his buy-out clause rising to €30m.

"I'm the happiest kid in the world," Moreno said on the club's website. "It's the greatest thing for a player, especially me, to renew your contract with the team where you've always wanted to be."

"I spent ten years in the Sevilla youth teams and now they've given me this reward which I think is deserved.

"I'm very happy, both for me and my family."

Regarding his call up by the reigning world and European champions, Moreno added: "It's the second good news I've received today.

"I'm very happy, I couldn't ask for more. Days like this don't happen all the time. I was delighted to find out that I'm going to play with the best in the world, it makes me really proud to think of myself with them."
