Continuing our regular 'Stadiums Progress' feature, we reveal the construction work carried out in May at the 12 venues for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.
It was confirmed last month that both Salvador and Recife would be staging games at next year’s FIFA Confederations Cup. For its part, the Fonte Nova is increasingly beginning to resemble its scale model, with the terraces almost complete and work underway on the roof structure. Meanwhile, work has also started on the roofs at the Castelao, Mineirao and Maracana. Not to be outdone, the stadiums not hosting matches at the FIFA Confederations Cup are also taking shape, with rows of seating now being installed.
