New Mali coach Amadou Pathe Diallo has named a 25-man squad for this Sunday's friendly against Côte d'Ivoire in France and next month's FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers against Benin and Algeria.
Tongo Hamed Doumbia of French Ligue 1 side Rennes is one of three players handed a debut call-up to a squad otherwise dominated by players who starred in the Eagles run to the semi-finals of this year's CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
The game against the Ivorians will be played in the Paris suburbs, before Mali travel to Benin on 3 June and then entertain Algeria on 9 June.
Mali have been drawn in Group H in the second round of African qualifying, along with Algeria, Benin and Rwanda. Diallo was promoted to the role of coach after Frenchman Alain Giresse stepped down earlier this month.
