Ahmed Hassan, Egypt captain
“There are no easy groups any more. African football has changed. I know that from personal experience playing with the national team. In the previous qualifiers we faced sides that were by no means weak but we still failed to go through. Every match is difficult now and you have to treat it accordingly. If we are to qualify we need to really focus and draw on our past experience, plus we have to make a strong start. Guinea are an excellent side, as are Zimbabwe, and Mozambique can’t be taken lightly. If we want to progress beyond this qualifying stage we must keep our focus and plan properly.”

Norman Mapeza, Zimbabwe coach
“There’s no way you could call this an easy draw! Qualifying for the World Cup will take some doing. Guinea are a very good side and they’ve got even better recently. Egypt are always strong. Their form might have dipped a bit this year but you should never write them off or assume they will be easier to beat."
