Greece forward Georgios Samaras expects an open fight for second place behind Argentina when Group B gets under way in the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. The Celtic ace expects the South Americans to come out on top and admits Otto Rehhagel's side will be battling with South Korea and Nigeria for the runners-up spot.
It's an open group for second place and we must be realistic.
"I think Argentina will be easy group winners," he said. "For the rest there are three countries, Nigeria, South Korea and us, who are around the same level and will fight for the second place. It's an open group for second place and we must be realistic."
Samaras is determined to make the most of his chance to star on the biggest stage in world football. "I am proud I am going to represent my country and Celtic at the World Cup and I just want to go there and enjoy the experience," said the 25-year-old former Manchester City player.
"I know it's difficult for a country to reach the World Cup again so that's the reason I must enjoy it now. It only happens every four years and I know I might not go to a World Cup again."
