Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino was delighted with his team's first training session after their arrival in South Africa.

The team landed in Pietermartizburg after a long journey from their training base in Switzerland yesterday before undergoing a light training session.

Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo, who has been suffering with an ankle injury, was able to train fully with his team-mates, and Martino was upbeat.

"We prepared thoroughly", he said. "We will be in excellent condition for our first match."

Paraguay are in Group F alongside Italy, New Zealand and Slovakia.
