Miroslav Klose has scored five goals at each of the last two FIFA World Cups™. In his first FIFA World Cup in 2002, Klose netted a hat-trick against Saudi Arabia and hit two more later in the tournament as Germany reached the final, where they lost to Brazil.

Four years later, when the tournament was on home soil, Klose took his tally to 10 in total thanks to two doubles during the group stage and a further strike against Argentina in the last eight, which proved enough to win the adidas Golden Shoe - the lowest winning tally since 1962.

Oleg Salenko holds the record for scoring the most goals in one game at the FIFA World Cup, netting five goals for Russia in a 6-1 victory over Cameroon in 1994.
