The two players widely considered the greatest in FIFA World Cup™ history, Pele and Diego Maradona, both famously wore the number 10 shirt.

Pele won three FIFA World Cups with Brazil and the jersey he wore in the 1970 final in Mexico fetched £66,500 at auction three years ago.

Maradona, now the national team coach, led Argentina to victory almost single-handedly - also in Mexico - in 1986 and there were calls in his country for the number 10 shirt to be retired in his honour.
