David Beckham has backed Theo Walcott to bounce back stronger from missing out on a place in England's 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ squad.
The Arsenal winger was one of seven players cut from Fabio Capello's provisional squad earlier this week, four years after his surprise selection for Germany 2006, when he was just 17, by Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Beckham himself bounced back from the adversity of his dismissal against Argentina at France 1998 to lead England into the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups.
And now the former Three Lions captain, who was ruled out of South Africa 2010 by a torn Achilles, has sent a text message to Walcott, backing him to respond from his disappointment.
According to the Daily Express, Beckham told Walcott: "Keep your chin up, you've got a great talent and you will come back and be stronger in the future."
