Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel could be back on course for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™.

The Slovakia international is due to return to full training at Melwood after suffering a fractured metatarsal, the club stated on its official website.

Skrtel has not played since Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Unirea in February, but may now be fit for South Africa.

Slovakia, who have reached the FIFA World Cup for the first time, open their campaign against New Zealand on 15 June.
