Korea Republic coach Huh Jung-moo has cut four players from his 30-man preliminary FIFA World Cup™ squad.

Defenders Hwang Jae-Won of Pohang Steelers and Suwon Bluewings' Kang Min-Soo will not make the trip to South Africa, while Suwon midfielder Cho Won-Hee and Kim Chi-Woo of FC Seoul are also left out.

Huh made the decision on Monday morning after watching the 2002 semi-finalists defeat Ecuador 2-0 in a friendly at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

There are a few injury concerns for the coach. Midfielder Kim Jae-Sung limped off against the South Americans but should be fully recovered next week, however a thigh injury could keep striker Lee Dong-Gook out of action for two to three weeks.

Korea Republic, who face Argentina, Greece and Nigeria at South Africa 2010, play Japan on 24 May, before heading to an Austrian training camp and games against Belarus on 30 May and Spain four days later.

The final 23 is due to be named before 1 June.
