Greece coach Otto Rehhagel and his 25 players departed for their Swiss training camp on Friday in preparation for their FIFA World Cup™ campaign.

"We will go to Switzerland to prepare in ideal conditions. We will play two friendly matches against teams that are similar in styles to those we face in the World Cup," said Rehhagel. "I hope everyone is healthy. At the World Cup the best teams in the world will be participating and we need to be at 100 percent of our potential to make our presence felt."

Greece will train at Bad Ragaz in Switzerland until 3 June and will play friendly matches against North Korea on 25 May in Altach, Austria and Paraguay on 2 June in Winterthur, Switzerland.

Rehhagel must submit his final 23-man squad for the 11 June - 11 July tournament to FIFA by 1 June. Greece will leave for South Africa on June 4 and have been drawn alongside Argentina, Nigeria and South Korea in Group B.

Asked by reporters at the airport to compare the UEFA European Championship that Greece won in 2004 with the FIFA World Cup, Rehhagel answered: "It's something different. It is not the same because here we are playing the best teams in the world, while in the Euro you are playing against Europe's outstanding teams. In the World Cup you will be playing against top teams from Africa and South America as well."
