The Greeks twice led through goals from Kostas Katsouranis (2) and Angelos Charisteas (49), but a brace from Kawasaki Frontale forward Jong Tae-Se (24 and 52) pegged them back.

Otto Rehhagel's side start their World Cup campaign against Group B opponents Korea Republic on 12 June, before games against Nigeria and Argentina.

Korea DPR are in the toughest of the eight pools in South Africa, Group G, alongside Brazil, Côte d'Ivoire and Portugal.

Elsewhere, Cameroon were also held to a goalless draw by Georgia in Linz. The Indomitable Lions, who are coached by former Lyon boss Paul Le Guen, kick off their World Cup campaign against Japan before games against Denmark and Holland.

Coach Lars Lagerback's first match in charge of Nigeria ended in a 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia in Wattens.
