Preben Elkjaer Larsen scored 38 times in 69 appearances for Denmark.

He was part of the mid-1980s 'Danish Dynamite' team and scored four goals in the 1986 FIFA World Cup™ finals, including a hat-trick in the 6-1 thrashing of Uruguay.

The tournament was Denmark's FIFA World Cup debut and they progressed from the group stage in impressive fashion only to lose heavily against Spain in the knockout stage.

Elkjaer also represented Denmark at the 1984 and 1988 UEFA European Championship.
