A dedicated force of 41,000 police officers will be deployed during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ in order to protect the expected 400,000 visiting fans.

The South African army and Interpol will also be working closely with the significant police presence throughout the FIFA World Cup and each of the 32 teams will also be protected by two fighter jets whenever they travel via plane.

The South African police force have launched a training regime to ensure their officers are in shape to keep fans safe at the FIFA World Cup.
