There are approximately 75 million children in Africa who are out of school so FIFA have launched an initiative in a bid to ensure they all receive an education. The scheme, called 1GOAL: Education for All, was launched in August last year and aims to ensure every African child has access to classrooms, teachers and a brighter future.

The launch was hosted by former England striker Gary Lineker and the programme has been backed by a number of Premier League stars, as well as celebrities such as Bob Geldof, Bono, Kevin Spacey, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan and, of course, FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter.

"I am firmly backing 1GOAL in their effort to make sure every child receives an education. I have travelled to Malawi and I have seen the power of kids in schools. When people get an education, they can start to provide for themselves and their families," said England goalkeeper David James.
