Italy coach Marcello Lippi has named a 23-man squad for next month's 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria.

Bayern Munich's Luca Toni was the surprise omission while AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso misses out after injuring his ankle in Saturday's Milan derby.

Genoa defender Domenico Criscito and Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio have been promoted from the U-21 team, while Fiorentina wide-man Marco Marchionni receives his first call-up in three years.
