Wales captain Craig Bellamy has been retained in John Toshack's squad for the forthcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifiers against Finland and Germany, despite a knee injury.

The Manchester City forward is dobtful for the two matches, which take place at the Millennium Stadium on 28 March and 1 April respectively, having not played since sustaining his injury against former club West Ham United on 1 March.

But, with Wales third behind leaders Germany in Group 4 of European Zone qualifying, and bidding to reach their first major finals since 1958, Bellamy could well feature in the internationals without the benefit of a first-team match for City beforehand.
