Serbia took a first-half lead through Nikola Zigic in the 37th minute and moved up a gear in the second half to put four more goals past the Romanians.

Marko Pantelic doubled their lead in the 50th minute, Zdravko Kuzmanovic made it 3-0 on 78 minutes and then Milan Javanovic grabbed a brace in the 86th and 90th minutes.
