Nigeria have called up six players from the team that reached the final of the Men's Olympic Football Tournament for their final Group Four FIFA World Cup™ qualifying match at home against Sierra Leone next month.
Victor Obinna, who scored three goals at the Olympics, leads Dele Adeleye, Sani Kaita, Chinedu Obasi, Onyekachi Apam and Peter Odemwingie, who all featured at the Games where the Nigerians lost to Argentina in the final.
Skipper Nwankwo Kanu has also been recalled after he was overlooked as a result of injury for the recent qualifier against South Africa in Port Elizabeth.
Nigeria lead their qualifying group with 15 points from five matches. They host second-placed Sierra Leone on 11 October in Abuja.
