Madagascar have decided to leave three France-based players out of their squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifier against Botswana in Antananarivo on Sunday.
Forwards Ima Faneva Andriantsima and Paulin Voavy, who play for Boulogne in Ligue 2, and Pau midfielder Johan Paul have been dropped by Malagasy coach Franck Rajaonarisamba after failing to guarantee their arrival in time for the game.
Andriantsima's absence in particular is a blow for the home side. He has four goals to his name in the qualifiers, and has long been considered Madagascar's stand-out player.
