Kazakhstan have decided to sack coach Arno Pijpers, following an announcement from their FA's secretary-general Sayan Khamitzhanov.

Khamitzhanov said that the country's poor performance in the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ qualifying campaign was the reason behind their decision.

"How long we should endure it?," he told the press. "We in the federation are ashamed of the existing situation and we all must apologize to the country's fans for it. We will start seeking a new coach today."

In Group Six, which includes England, Kazakhstan began by beating Andorra 3-0 at home but then suffered 3-0 and 3-1 defeats at the hands of Croatia and Ukraine respectively.

Dutch coach Pijpers took over Kazakhstan in January 2006. In qualifying for UEFA EURO 2008, Kazakhstan gained just ten points from their 14 games.
