Romania need to beat France in their third FIFA World Cup™ qualifying game on 11 October and are capable of it given the return from injury of two star players, according to former Romania great Gheorghe Hagi.
"We need to win even more than France," said Hagi. "It will be a very difficult game for the two teams but if ours really believe in it, it (victory) is possible."
Captain Cristian Chivu and star striker Adrian Mutu, who both missed Romania's qualifiers against Lithuania and the Faroe Islands, return to their national side for the crunch match against France.
Chivu and Mutu are two of ten foreign-based Romanians called up by coach Victor Piturca for the third qualifying match for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, which will be played in the Black Sea city of Constanta.
The pair missed Romania's humiliating 3-0 loss to Lithuania on 6 September and the narrow 1-0 win over the Faroes four days later, but have both since made their returns for Inter Milan and Fiorentina in the Italian league.
"It's obvious the team will be stronger with them," Hagi continued. "Both are excellent players, technically skilled and very strong mentally."
