Korea Republic celebrated their progress into the next stage of Asian qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ with a 3-1 win away to Turkmenistan on Saturday.

South Korea's Kim Do-heon recorded a hat-trick as his team joined neighbours Korea DPR at the top of Group 3 with 11 points and assured of a place in the final round. Turkmenistan are anchored at the bottom of the table with only one point.

The visitors got off to a lively start when Kim Do-Heon stunned Turkmenistan goalkeeper Bairam Berdyev with a 22-metre shot when the game was 14 minutes old.

Turkmenistan levelled in the 75th minute through Guvanch Ovekov's spotkick but Kim restored Korea's lead five minutes later scoring after being set-up by a free kick.

Kim completed his hat-trick with a spotkick in the last minute of regular time to secure South Korea a well-deserved win.
