Jamaica beat Honduras 1-0 in Kingston on Wednesday to keep their 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifying hopes alive. The victory, coupled with their upset of Mexico at the weekend, kept them in the running to advance to the six-nation final round of qualifying for the North, Central American and Caribbean region.

Luton Shelton scored the lone goal of the contest in the 16th minute, and Honduras were unable to answer. With one match remaining in the semi-final round, Jamaica have seven points in Group 2, two points behind Honduras and three behind Mexico, who drew 2-2 in Canada.
