Netherlands striker Arjen Robben will be sidelined for two 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifiers after picking up a thigh injury playing for Real Madrid, the Dutch Football Federation announced Monday.
Robben could be out for at least two weeks meaning he is ruled out for the Netherlands' group nine qualifiers against Iceland on Saturday and Norway on 15 October.
Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk has yet to name replacements for Robben and Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who is also ruled out with injury.
After two qualifiers Netherlands sit top of group nine with three points thanks to superior goals difference. Scotland, in second, and Macedonia, third, also have three points.
