Guatemala played Trinidad and Tobago to a goalless draw in a qualifying match for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, leaving both teams in with a chance of progression to the final stage with two matches remaining.

The draw ensured the unbeaten United States, who routed Cuba 6-1 on Saturday, of victory in Group A with 12 points and left Guatemala level with Trinidad and Tobago on five points.

Guatemala lead their rivals on goal difference, but Guatemala must visit Cuba and the USA, while Trinidad and Tobago will meet both at home to conclude the round-robin qualifying group. The top two teams in each of the three groups advance to the final phase next year.

The USA are away to Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday while Guatemala visit Cuba, who retain a slim chance of advancing.
