OBRIGADO:
Thank you for following along with the precedings in Natal, where Uruguay's 1-0 win over Italy was enough to send the South Americans through to the Round of 16 at the expense of their opponents. The culmination of Group C commences in a little under two hours' time, and until then we invite you to join us back at our daily tournament blog where we'll review the Group D games and preview what is still to come during Matchday 13.

FULL TIME: Uruguay take advantage of their numerical supremacy and advance into the Round of 16 as the second-place team from Group D after a tense affair in Natal that ended 1-0 in the South Americans favour. Captain Diego Godin's goal proved to be enough as La Celeste move on and send Italy home. Costa Rica's 0-0 draw against England was enough for Los Ticos to take the top spot in the group.
