Mohammad Nabi, Iran (FA's General Secretary);
"It is not the first time we have reached this level. We
are now thinking of qualifying for the next stage. We consider all
teams as worthy opponents. We have come to compete and get results
on the field. Group 4 with Saudi Arabia is the most comfortable but
we are confident we will do well."
Maher El Said, Syria (Player);
"We can not complain, we were placed in the fourth
seeding which means we should have expected the worst. But
honestly, I was relived as soon as I heard about our opponents.
Iran, the UAE and Kuwait certainly have better odds of winning than
we do but it is better than playing with China and Australia. We
have a youth team and some very promising players - these
qualifiers will be quite a challenge for them."
