MATCH Services is the professional services company selected by FIFA to provide ticketing, accommodation and event information technology services to FIFA for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and related events.
MATCH (based in Zürich, Switzerland) was founded by Byrom plc. (which is based in Manchester, United Kingdom) and Eurotech Global Sports A.G. (which is based in Appenzell, Switzerland), for the sole purpose of providing services to FIFA for the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup events. Principals within both companies have worked on FIFA World Cups in the areas of ticketing, accommodation or event information technology services since 1994.
MATCH has formed a wholly owned South African subsidiary, MATCH Event Services PTY, to operate local activities in South Africa in connection with the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Another subsidiary of MATCH has been formed in Brazil to manage and operate locally in that country for 2014.
Ticketing
MATCH's main Ticketing objective is to deliver an efficient and service-oriented sales organisation for the implementation of a Ticket sales process that is transparent, fair and equitable.
In this regard, MATCH will be responsible for delivering to FIFA a turn-key ticketing solution relating to the aforementioned events, comprising of all ticketing services required for all ticket customers, including ticket ordering, sales, printing, distribution, administration, on-site operations and enforcement of FIFA's Ticket Terms and Conditions. FIFA will be the principal in the sale of all Tickets for the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, and MATCH will act as FIFA's agent in the sale of all tickets to all ticket customers.
Accommodation
MATCH's main Accommodation objective is to deliver a unique accommodation programme,in terms of quality, creativity, flexibility and an unmatched capacity to meet market needs.
Therefore, for the accommodation project for the aforementioned events, MATCH will be responsible for securing and administering as a principal a sufficient inventory of hotel rooms and non-hotel accommodation to meet the requirements of the respective events. Further, MATCH will be responsible for negotiating terms and conditions with the accommodation community in the host countries. MATCH will act as the principal in the sale of all hotel rooms and non-hotel accommodation contracted.

Event Information Technology
MATCH's primary Event Information Technology objective is to provide the IT systems and services that enable the successful operational delivery of each event and also meet the expectations of key FIFA user groups.
MATCH has the obligation to deliver the event IT solution requirements of FIFA for all of the aforementioned events. This encompasses a select number of mission critical systems that support event related business processes including accreditation, volunteer/event staffing and transportation. MATCH is also responsible for the implementation of a private network connecting hundreds of event locations in support of key user groups including the FIFA delegation and staff, the event organizing committee as well as the thousands of media persons who will attend each event. MATCH oversees the complex deployment of a massive number of network and communication devices, computers, printers, servers and cabling for all event locations. Finally, during the event period, MATCH leads a seamless event monitoring and support operation that integrates resources from all organizations that are a part of the event IT solution including FIFA, MATCH, the event organizing committee as well key sponsors and service providers.
