No matter how you look at it, Durban – the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal, will be the warmest place to be in 2010! The weather, the lifestyle, the people, and the activities - you’ll be hard pressed to find a better place to base yourself for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Golden beaches, azure skies, an average sea temperature of 19 degrees in winter… What more could you ask for on a “winter” holiday? Whilst the rest of South Africa can get very cold over this time, Durban’s average 320 sunny days ensures that we get to experience the beauty of our sub-tropical climate all year round.

The FIFA Fan Fest™ is the only Fan Fest™ in South Africa to be situated on the beach, will be the meeting place for fans to watch the excitement of all the games. Can you think of a better way to spend a sunny “winters” day than watching great football and playing in the waves of our warm Indian Ocean at half time?

The FIFA Fan Fest™ has it all - mega-screen with surround sound; live entertainment and a choice of food and drink. Best of all entrance is free! Party and cheer yourself hoarse with other fans from around the world in a rock concert atmosphere.

After the football, you can walk to your hotel or on to any one of the many restaurants and pubs along the beachfront promenade. Our brand new iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium is also within walking distance from the FIFA Fan Fest™. Why not take a stroll to see how this phenomenal structure creates a breathtaking silhouette on our skyline.

Kick off your World Cup African Adventure in a city that has everything to offer just hours from the festivities of the football. Whether it be spending lazy days on the beach, hiking in the awe-inspiring Drakensberg mountains, or spotting one of the Big 5 in our picturesque game reserves, you are sure to experience it all, starting in our incredible city.

With so much to do and see, you are sure to want to make Durban your destination of choice for your World Cup experience. We can guarantee that you’ll love your stay so much; you’ll wish you were here for longer (and that you didn’t need to go back home)!
