Rome is the third-most-visited tourist destination in the European Union, and its historic centre is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Being the home of the emperor during the Roman Empire, the Italian government and the Roman Catholic Church today, the city has often been nicknamed "Caput Mundi" (Latin for "Capital of the World") and "The Eternal City". Also, Rome is widely regarded as one of the world's most beautiful ancient cities.

The International FIFA Fan Fest™ in Rome will be located at prestigious “Piazza di Siena” in Villa Borghese, which is part of the history and culture of Rome.

Villa Borghese is the second largest public park in Rome after the Villa Doria Pamphili and contains a huge number of monuments, fountains, gardens, and charming buildings. It’s included in all touristic itineraries especially for the famous museum “Galleria Borghese” and attractions, like the city zoo and the “Casa del Cinema” (Film House).

It’s centrally located and easily reachable by public transportation (bus, subway) and also by car (its underground parking represents an efficient facility).

Piazza di Siena it is a learned location in hosting big sport and cultural events, namely the yearly “FEI Show Jumping Piazza di Siena” or the yearly parade of the Carabinieri.

The appointment of the City of Rome as International FIFA Fan Fest City is a great opportunity for international promotion, worldwide recognition and enables us to experience as a key player the period surrounding the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. We are convinced that the City of Rome will be able to prove its role as a Sport Capital and will be able to involve in this unique event as many people as possible.
