Phil Masinga, born 28 June 1969, is widely regarded as one of the best South African strikers of all time. Masinga, or Chippa as he is affectionately known, has won 58 caps for South Africa, scoring 18 goals during that time. He was part of the team that won the CAF African Cup of Nations in 1996.

Masinga is well known for scoring the all important goal against the Congo DR in 1997 which saw Bafana Bafana through to the 1998 FIFA World Cup™ in France.     

At club level Masinga has played for Jomo Cosmos and Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, Leeds United in England, Swiss club St Gallen, plus Italian side Salernitana, and then Bari in Serie A.
