Kalusha Bwalya, born 16 August 1963, is regarded as one of the Africa's top footballers. Now retired, he still holds the Zambian record for most caps, appearing in 100 matches from 1983 to 2004. In that time he scored 50 goals, including most famously, a hat trick against Italy in the 1988 Olympic Football Tournament. In the same year he was named African Footballer of the Year.
His national team career included a remarkable six CAF African Cup of Nations appearances for Zambia.
At club level he has also had a sterling career, playing for PSV Eindhoven, Club America and Necaxa in Mexico, plus Belgium's Cercle Brugge.
He is currently the president of the Football Association of Zambia.
