Scotland have promoted Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher from the U-21s to the senior squad for Wednesday's crucial FIFA World Cup™ qualifier in Iceland.

Fletcher comes in as manager George Burley sweats over the fitness of Rangers forward Kenny Miller, who suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's 1-0 defeat in Macedonia. Full-back Graham Alexander is also doubtful for Wednesday's must-win match but Burley has been bolstered by Celtic defender Stephen McManus's recovery from an ankle knock.

Burley said: "We will see what Kenny is like but we have a good squad of players so we will pick from who is available. Graham Alexander and Kenny didn't train today and Kenny is the biggest worry with his hamstring."

If Alexander does not pass a fitness test it could lead to a surprise debut for Rangers full-back Kirk Broadfoot and Burley insisted he would have "no hesitation" in throwing the player into the action in Reykjavik.
