The Mexicans held tournament hosts South Africa to a 1-1 draw on Friday while Les Bleus had to settle for a goalless result against Uruguay in the other group A game.
"All things considered, the result against South Africa was good for us," said Perez. "We would have liked to have taken three points but it was not to be. We are not fully satisfied but we must look forward to our next game."
Javier Aguirre's side take on France on Thursday in Cape Town determined to claim a first win in South Africa but knowing they will be tested by the 1998 winners and 2006 runners-up.
"France are an uncomfortable rival," said Perez. "They have experience. "I don't think they will run like South Africa did but we must be prepared. France have players with a lot of quality that can change a game. We have two games left to play in the group stage and we must win both."
Mexico end their group stage against Uruguay on 22 June in Rustenburg.
