Two month later he was named Kazakhstan national interim coach after Dutchman Arno Pijpers was sacked following two consecutive defeats at the hands of Croatia (3-0) and Ukraine (4-1) in the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ qualifying campaign.
He signed with Kazakhstan football federation a one-year contract, which could be prolongued for another two-year term.
No financial details of the deal were disclosed. "It's a pride for me to coach Kazakhstan national side," Stork said.
"I would combine the experienced veterans and young talents to create a competitive squad to play attacking style football. But please don't expect any immediate miracles. We need first to obtain certain experience to perform much better in the future."
