New Zealand will open their tournament against Slovakia at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg. They will then travel to Nelspruit to face world champions, Italy.
Travel options from Rustenburg to Nelspruit
By car: Take the N4 through Pretoria from Rustenburg and continue east until you reach Nelspruit. This drive will take you just over 4 hours. Once you get to Tshwane/ Pretoria, you might be tempted to make a stop and take in historical sites including the Union Buildings in Church Street and other iconic monuments before continuing your journey.
By bus: Your second option will be catch a bus from Rustenburg city centre to Pretoria. There you can then transfer to a second bus which will take you to Nelspruit.
New Zealand will then travel 320km to Polokwane to play Paraguay in their final group match. Nelspruit is just 50km from the Kruger National Park so, if you have time, pop into South Africa’s biggest game reserve to catch a glimpse of the wildlife before continuing your trip.
Travel options from Nelspruit to Polokwane:
By car: To drive to Polokwane, travel east on the N4 towards Pretoria until you get to the N11 then turn north on the N11 towards Polokwane. This will take you around three to three and a half hours.
By bus: There are no direct bus services between Nelspruit and Polokwane. You can, however, take a bus from Nelspruit to Johannesburg’s Park Station. From there, you can catch another bus to Polokwane which will take you right to the city centre.
