Slovenia's tournament will begin in Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba Stadium against Algeria. They will then travel the 350km to the city of Johannesburg to play USA at Ellis Park Stadium.

Travel options from Polokwane to Johannesburg

By plane: A flight from Polokwane International airport to OR Tambo International will take around 45 minutes. Once there, take a minbus taxi or cab/meter taxi to Johannesburg city. Ellis Park Stadium is at the heart of the city.

By car: This is a flat road and will give you a unique feel for the African landscape as you travel the 350 km to Polokwane. Rent a car in Polokwane and follow the N1 to Johannesburg. Enjoy the wide open spaces along the way and consider stopping at such renowned spots as Bela-Bela, Makopane and the Rus de Winter Game Reserve.

Slovenia will then travel from Johannesburg to Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth to face England in their final group match.

Travel options from Johannesburg to Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth

By plane: Most major airlines run daily flights between OR Tambot International Airport and Port Elizabeth Airport. On average, flights take around 1hr30mins.

By car: Take the N1 (South) to Mangaung/ Bloemfontein. Around the halfway point of your journey, you may be tempted to stop in Kroonstad and savour the beauty and tranquillity of this small town. Once you arrive in Mangaung/ Bloemfontein, take the N6 which goes via Aliwal North then on to Queenstown. You can then drive to Grahamstown, where you might be tempted to soak up some of the area's rich history and possibly enjoy a night's sleep before making the short trip down the N2 to Port Elizabeth. Doing the whole trip in one go would take approximately 11 hours.

By bus: There are regular intercity buses between Pretoria and Nelson Mandela Bay, an option which would take just over 15 hours. Make your way to Johannesburg’s Park Station (in the Central Business District) where you can catch a bus to Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth.

By train: Another option is to take a train from Johannesburg’s Park Station to Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth.
