Kwena Moabelo (TV and radio football personality)
What are the three must see places in you city for visitors?
The Bakone Malapa Museum, then there is the Polokwane Game Reserve. The third place I will recommend is the Modjadji Cycad reserve.
What can visitors expect from the city’s football fans?
Polokwane fans are very passionate about football, more so because we are starved of the beautiful games in that part of the country. At the moment, we don’t have a team in the professional ranks, and that is disappointing for us. I’m however, confident that during the World Cup, we will get capacity crowds at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
What’s your favourite 'hang-out' place in the city and why?
The Savannah Mall. Polokwane is a small city but we have some of the best restaurants.
If you were to take a day trip out of the city, where would you go?
Definitely to the township of Seshego, just outside the city.
Who do you think is the most famous person to come out of your city and why?
There have been many big names from Polokwane but I think former Bafana Bafana coach Trott Moloto stands out!
How is the hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup going to impact your city?
Polokwane is at the heart of the Limpopo province which is one of the poorest provinces in South Africa, so there will be a lot of business opportunities for our people, and the number of tourists coming through will help improve the economy.
