What are the three must see places in you city for visitors?
I come from a small town called Ventersdorp very close to Rustenburg and contrary to what some people think and perceive about Rustenburg and North West Province, we have lots of nice places there. I would recommend Sun City because its one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. We have Pilanesburg Game Reserve which is also nice. Bakhubung is another place, we recently had a camp there (with his team, Kaizer Chiefs) and it was very nice.
What can visitors expect from the city's football fans?
Well, Rustenburg is not as big as Johannesburg, but people there love football. Basically, wherever you go in South Africa, people enjoy football and they live for the game. Rustenburg is no different.
What's your favourite ‘hang-out' place in the city and why?
Obviously Sun City, I go there a lot to relax and whenever I want to take my mind away from football. There is a lot that happens there.
If you were to take a day trip out of the city, where would you go?
Definitely Johannesburg because that is where I stay now and I like it there.
Who do you think is the most famous person to come out of your city and why?
Mhhh, (laughing) We don't have a lot. I think Gert Schalkwyk (current Orlando Pirates player) and myself might be the most famous people to come out from that part of the world.
How is the hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup going to impact your city?
I think the World Cup has already done a lot for this country. It has improved our infrastructure, it has also lifted the standard of football inthis country. In Rustenburg, it has certainly revived the enthusiasm on football and people are now looking forward to the tournament.
