Keller, solo number one
Germany has always been known for the strength of its goalkeepers but the only one playing in the Bundesliga who is first choice for his country at the FIFA World Cup is an American.
The USA's Kasey Keller, who has been with Borussia Monchengladbach since January 2005 and previously built up a wealth of experience in England with four clubs, Millwall, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton, will certainly feel at home in this competition.
Not so comfortable perhaps is Oliver Kahn, capped 85 times and captain of Germany at Korea/Japan 2002, who was recently told by coach Jurgen Klinsmann that he was no longer first choice. That honour goes to Jens Lehmann, who plays in England for Arsenal.
