Italy coach Marcello Lippi and France's Raymond Domenech have both opted to keep faith with the players who started their respective semi-finals, with no changes to either line-up.
For the Azzurri, that means no starting place for Alessandro Del Piero, a goalscoring substitute against Germany. Nor has Lippi been tempted to sacrifice one of his central midfielders for striker Alberto Gilardino, as he did in earlier matches.
Les Bleus, meanwhile, take on a familiar look, with Claude Makelele and Patrick Vieira operating as holding midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 formation in which Zinedine Zidane, Frank Ribery and Florent Malouda will be expected to support the lone striker, Thierry Henry.
