Poland turned a corner with Saturday's 1-0 warm-up win over fellow FIFA World Cup finalists Croatia, says striker Maciej Zurawski.
"The team's confidence has come back," he said. "The Croatia game has given us a last-minute boost, everyone feels better psychologically and we are riding a wave now.
"Ecuador are clearly a team within our reach and if we play as well as we did against Croatia I think we will win."
Poland launch their campaign against Ecuador in Gelsenkirchen on Friday. Their other Group A opponents are hosts Germany and Costa Rica.
The team took a battering from media and fans after losing to Colombia last week but a defensive five-man midfield provided fresh impetus against Croatia.
The Poles, though, are concerned whether the formation gives Zurawski enough freedom in open play.
"I don't think the system we play is really a problem," Zurawski said.
"With the five-man midfield I have to run a lot more but after a year at Celtic I'm used to that. You have to run and run and run.
"It's still not clear if we will use this formation against Ecuador. We're only just starting the detailed preparations for this game so the coaches will probably decide over the next few days."
