France defender Gael Givet has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan from Marseille for the rest of the season, the Premier League side have announced.
Rovers added they had an option to purchase the defender on a full-time basis at the end of the season. Givet, who can play at left-back or in central defence, has been capped 13 times by France but has not played for Marseille this season after falling out of favour with manager Eric Gerets.
There was further transfer window activity at Hull, who said they'd completed the signing of winger Kevin Kilbane from Premier League rivals Wigan for an undisclosed fee. The 31-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who has joined on a two-and-a-half-year contract, could make his debut in Saturday's league match against Arsenal.
